Caregiving Resources You Need!
The need for Americans to provide care for an adult over the age of 50 is expected to double over the next 25 years.
Family caregiving can put a tremendous amount of stress and financial strain on a family. Our Community Education Program offers vital knowledge to support this rapidly growing population. The Council on Aging is uniquely positioned to provide resources and education to our older adult population and those who care for them. We offer classes and seminars at our offices, as well as at various locations throughout the community.
Caring for a loved one in need is the #1 reason for workforce productivity loss and costs businesses $29 billion each year. 20-25% of employees are caregivers of relatives in declining health. And, 40% are also taking care of their children.
While many employees are faced with leaving their jobs to fulfill caregiving responsibilities, others take time off to assist a parent in declining health. As employees try to cope with caregiving challenges and disruptions to their work, their productivity suffers.
The Council on Aging is the expert when it comes to educating your employees about resources, caregiving and coping with the health decline of an aging parent. Our Corporate Education Programs helps to equip employees with tools, information and resources to manage their work and caregiving responsibilities and reduces the loss in productivity.
