DESCRIPTION: The Council on Aging – Southern California (COASC) has tripled in size during the last 10 years and plans to accelerate growth to support our rapidly growing older adult community.  The board and CEO are looking for a mission-focused, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience in scaling an organization, leading an executive management team, and developing a collaborative performance culture among our diverse, talented staff and volunteers.

POSITION TITLE: Controller
HOURS: Full Time, Monday – Friday

DESCRIPTION:  The Controller’s overall responsibility includes mitigating financial risks, ensuring accuracy of accounting financial process, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting activities including functional responsibility over accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, contracts and grants administration and payroll. The Controller will work with the COO in overseeing all facets of financial operations, defining, evaluating, implementing, and enforcing accounting policies, systems, and controls, maintaining financial records, overseeing the financial infrastructure, and preparing internal and external financial reports. This position will serve as a strategic advisor to the Board along with COO.

DESCRIPTION: The Program Director provides leadership and direction for the Riverside County Long-Term Care Ombudsman program. The Program Director implements policies and procedures as set forth by the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and manages the day-to-day activities of the program to ensure its smooth operation and continued success.

POSITION TITLE: Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) Operations Coordinator
HOURS: 30 to 40 hours per week
FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Rancho Cucamonga

HICAP is a volunteer-based program that benefits older adults and persons with disabilities. The goal of this program is to provide objective counseling, advocacy, and assistance with Medicare, health insurance, and related health coverage plans for Medicare beneficiaries, and to educate the public on Medicare and health insurance issues.

PURPOSE OF WORK: To provide administration, leadership, and supervision of the HICAP office operations. Implement policies and procedures as assigned by Program Manager. Coordinate and build a strong work relationship with other departments.

PURPOSE OF WORK: Provide HICAP volunteer counselor training to prospective and registered volunteer HICAP counselors; identify the strengths and weaknesses of the training program, develop curriculum for the development of prospective and registered volunteers, and conduct training programs.

POSITION TITLE: Enrollment Coordinator
HOURS: 32 hours per week
HOURLY RATE: Negotiable
ACCOUNTABILITY: Support Group/Quality Control Supervisor and Department Director

The ReConnect Program is designed to identify and reduce physical, mental, and environmental health challenges experienced by older adults age 60 and older in Orange County. The program offers short term early interventions including case management services, comprehensive psychosocial assessments, mental health screening, short term therapy, and linkages to needed community resources. In addition, the program offers educational, social, and therapeutic support groups throughout the county for participants to reinforce healthy life patterns and increase their quality of life.

POSITION OBJECTIVES: To conduct participant screening and intake process for enrollment. To cultivate relationship with referral sources. To manage clients and program data collection system to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
